What I’m reading: Why not me?
A few years ago I read Mindy Kaling’s “Is everyone hanging out without me”. Her book, written as a series of essays was a memoir as her struggle to becoming a writer and actress. It was well written and entertaining, but fell short of my expectations.
Her second book – why not me? Was a continuation of the style her first book had, written as a series of essays, however this book really showcased her growth as a writer and a person. Not only was the book maturely written, but it was very entertaining hitting on serious topics within the workplace, as well as life. It was inspirational, relatable, and humorous. I really enjoyed this well rounded book. It inspired me to think about hard work, and being prepared. It’s an easy read, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys the genre of comedic memoirs, and of course chick-lits.
